Pay

Pay calculators

Hourly pay, overtime, timesheets, and salary conversions. Gross figures only.

These five tools turn a rate and a set of hours into a gross figure you can put next to a pay stub. They stop before tax, CPP, EI, union dues, and benefits. Pick the page that matches the paper in front of you.

Use overtime pay when you already know how many hours are straight time, how many are at 1.5, and how many are at double time. The page will not look up your province and decide that split. Ontario often starts overtime after 44 hours in a week. A US non-exempt job often uses 40. A salaried exempt role may be owed nothing, and the calculator will still multiply whatever you type.

Use the timesheet when you have clock-in and clock-out times and an unpaid lunch, and you do not yet have a decimal-hour total. Use hours and minutes when a spreadsheet says 7.5 and a clock says 7:30, or when someone typed 7.30 and meant half an hour. Those are not the same number. 7.30 decimal hours is 7 hours and 18 minutes.

Hourly to salary and salary to hourly are the same multiplication run in opposite directions. A 37.5-hour week and a 40-hour week produce different years from the same hourly rate, and different hours from the same salary. Vacation pay as a percent on top of wages is the Canada vacation-pay page, not an extra week hidden in the 52.
